About the ISA Arborist Exam
The Certified Arborist Exam is administered by the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA), and is designed to demonstrate professional knowledge of tree biology, safety practices, diagnosis, and other arboriculture-related topics.

Eligibility Requirements

In order to apply to for the exam, applicants must either...

have at least three years of full-time experience in arboriculture
-
have a 4-year degree in a related field, with one year of experience or a two-year degree in arboriculture, with two years of experience

Please note: Using multiple degrees to fulfill degree requirements is not acceptable.

Arborist Exam Breakdown

The exam is divided into ten areas of expertise (listed below).
